A Lesson Don't be ashamed of your mistakes. Take it as an invitation to learn something new and be more mindful of your choices in the future. We all have made decisions we regret on some level or another, so rejoice in the comfort of good company. I'm going to let you all in on one of my embarrassing fuck ups (and trust me, I have many ).  I should preface this by saying, I love reading and writing. If you don't believe me, I have friends and transcripts that confirm in my senior year of high school, I took four english classes by choice . I'm the nerd that loves shaming people who can't get there/their/they're correct, and that general sort of thing. So, get ready to cringe guys; I have a grammar error tattooed on my rib. I'm too ashamed to admit what the mistake is, but I've fallen in love with my daily reminder to be more careful and observant. It also reminds my that I'm human.  My deepest, darkest secret is now out and I own it.  I'm al...

A Background Throughout my life, I've felt some small sense of spirituality but I didn't delve further into it until shortly after I started college. After a traumatic time in my life, I learned more about sacred geometry and resonated it resonated with me.  I enjoy studying sacred geometry and its applications to everyday life. In Wikipedia's words, "Sacred geometry  ascribes symbolic and  sacred meanings  to certain geometric shapes and certain geometric  proportions .  It is associated with the belief that a god is the geometer of the world... T he study of sacred geometry has its roots in the study of nature, and the  mathematical principles  at work therein."   I've also practiced yoga for many years, but in the beginning it was more about stretching my muscles. When I practice yoga now, I work on strengthening my mind, being conscious of energy flow, and my connection with the Earth.   A Reading The Two of Swords I've ...

A Definition (or three) Meriam Webster Dictionary defines divination as,  1. The art or practice that seeks to foresee or foretell future events or discover knowledge usually by the interpretation of omens or by the aid of super natural powers  2. Unusual insight, intuitive perception.  Wikipedia calls it "the attempt to gain insight into a question or situation by way of an occultic, standardized process or ritual." My practice of divination as it pertains to tarot cards is a little mish-mash of these interpretations. I don't aim to read cards for others or tell the future. The cards anchor me spiritually. By taking the time to reflect upon how symbolisms individually and universally resonate, I can better understand the multiple facets and perceptions of life I encounter.  A Reading I must admit that it was hard for me to carve out time for myself this week. I had a lot going on between school, work, and spending time with friends and famil...

An Introduction Tarot cards resonate differently from person to person. Tarot cards are used as both cards to play games with, and as a way to practice divination. As I practice reading my cards and create a relationship with my deck, I will share my interpretations.  A Reading The Hanged Man In contrast to the imagery depicted on the card, the symbolism of the hanged man reminds me of my mother. The Hanged Man represents sacrifice, or, giving without the expectation of anything in return but having faith that you will.  The man is shown hung upside down which represents traditional values being turned on their head.  Sacrifice requires that you define the values that are important to you and what you are willing to give to maintain them.  The Tower The imagery of a tower reminds me immediately of home. Although a tower is a fortress of safety, it can also feel restrictive. The lighting striking the tower represents destruction of an old struc...
