An Introduction
Tarot cards resonate differently from person to person. Tarot cards are used as both cards to play games with, and as a way to practice divination. As I practice reading my cards and create a relationship with my deck, I will share my interpretations.A Reading
The Hanged Man
In contrast to the imagery depicted on the card, the symbolism of the hanged man reminds me of my mother. The Hanged Man represents sacrifice, or, giving without the expectation of anything in return but having faith that you will. The man is shown hung upside down which represents traditional values being turned on their head. Sacrifice requires that you define the values that are important to you and what you are willing to give to maintain them.
The Tower
The imagery of a tower reminds me immediately of home. Although a tower is a fortress of safety, it can also feel restrictive. The lighting striking the tower represents destruction of an old structure. This can be interpreted negatively, but breaking down an old structure allows for a new one to be built in its place. Traditionally, lightning brings divine understanding, inspiration, or vision, and a tower sends the message to challenge complacency. I interpret this as a reminder to be more aware of my choices and make my own decisions. This may resonate with others to challenge complacent energy at a higher level.
Three of Cups
The image of women in celebration reminds me of my friends and family, the women in my life who I love. Cups are affiliated with feeling, which implies the celebration of an emotional event. The number three in all suits stands for an initial completion that will provide a base for future growth. On a general level, I interpret the Three of Cups as a celebration of an initial completion. On a personal level, I interpret it as self love and a reminder to celebrate others around you.
TLDR;
1 CALL YOUR MOM.
2 Practice active decision making.
3 Celebrate your accomplishments.

Thank you for sharing such an interesting post! It was cool to learn about how you interpreted tarot cards. I do not have much knowledge on them but I was intrigued in how you viewed the symbolism. How long have you been interpreting tarot cards? I think it is great that you related the symbolism to your daily routine and life. I would love to know more on what encouraged you to interpret cards!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great introduction to Tarot cards. I've never heard about these. Your interpretations of the symbolism was especially interesting to read. The explanation of the tower is the one which resonates with me most. It has many parallels to my blog post about being uncomfortable and finding comfort in discomfort. It sounds like the tower may symbolize a place of comfort, and its destruction leaves its occupants in an unfamiliar position. However, it also presents the opportunity to, as you perfectly worded it, challenge complacency. I like that.
